I can't begin to tell how much I appreciate being part of CFJ community. After training alone for so long, I truly am humbled by the great athletes I've worked out with these past few weeks. I look forward to continuing on my fitness quest and growing within this community. Thanks for welcoming me and my family into CFJ. Hats off to you and Mike for creating a great life story.
- Mike (MACK)

"I just wanted to let you know how much I am missing the workouts with the group. I have been following the CF HQ website and getting through the workouts, but it is definitely not the same. There's no element of "fun" when you're just doing the workout on your own. I realize that fun is maybe not the first word that comes to mind when considering the workouts you are doing there (or at least inflicting on people there), but the camaraderie and support (as well as the coaching) definitely make it a much better experience. I keep an eye on the website to see what fun new things the aspiring mad and sadistic scientist is coming up with. Looks like you have lots of new people (and a lot more workout times to accomodate them all). At least that should ensure that I have somewhere to come back to in a year and a half! Take care...
- Steph, LCDR, US Navy

I had a great time CFing w/ everyone. Great facility, people, and philosophy! I look forward to joining you guys when I get back to Jax. Thanks!
- Eric S. (ATL), IBM

Thanks for letting me drop in and workout guys. I told some of the fire/rescue boys about your facility. Hopefully I can get some of them to stop in. You guys have one sweet set-up over there. Nice work!
- Steven A., St Johns County Firefighter

Just wanted to say, the video was BEAUTIFUL. A work of art with the editing AND the bods lol. Stay hard!
- Kath, CrossFit North Atlanta

Wanted to thank you all for the workout yesterday - it's always good to feel at home in a new place. I'll keep in touch from down range - keep up the good work.
- Derek, US Army Special Forces

Ummm, yeah... was I the only one who didn't think that was humanly possible?? :) You will be amazed at how capable your body really is when you put it to the test. Can you put it to the test??
- Cory, US Navy Rescue Swimmer

Just wanted to thank you and everyone else for your help in my CrossFit journey. CONGRATS again,
- Bob W., CAPT, US Navy Retired

We wanted to say Thank You to all the members of the CrossFit East family for the fabulous kettle bell you gave us for our send off. We have been using it for our workouts and it is fun to see all the nice messages on it while we are throwing it around. Even more than that, we want to thank you all for the friendship over the past several years. We have really enjoyed getting to know you and the sense of community and friendly competition that we have shared. You all are such positive, motivating, fun and friendly people and we feel that just getting to be around you has made us strive to be better individuals. We are really looking forward to our new life in Colorado, and seeing what direction our lives may go, but we will really miss being a part of the CrossFit East team. Thank you for helping us become stronger, faster, healthier, and more focused, not only in our workouts, but in our lives. It is not often you find a group of like minded people. We found that in all of you. Thank you all for allowing us to be part of your group. We have learned something from each of you about life, pushing our mental and physical limits, and just being better people. We hope that you will consider coming to visit us, to play in the mountains, to see our small beautiful town, and to work out with us in our garage gym with our very special kettlebell! Words are never enough. Please keep in touch!

The term self-improvement has taken on a new perspective for me since starting CrossFit. Some of the feelings I have experienced during these workouts could be classified as cruel and unusual punishment. The motivation I receive from the group helps me push past the point to where I want to quit. For years I hit the gym, trying to get bigger. Not going to happen, I lack the genetics to be that guy on the beach. My time is usually slow and some of the lifts have to be scaled down which sucks but I am trying to get better. One of the up sides of doing CrossFit aside from the physical part is it gives me a sense of accomplishment. On a parting note, if pain is weakness leaving the body then I have left my share at 27 Edgar Street. A positive side effect I have encountered halfway into one of these grueling sessions is a clarity that sets in and allows me to keep going. I considerate it a privilege to workout with the folks @ CFJAX.

- Randi, BGI CrossFit

Well, I can honestly say that I will NEVER forget my first true CrossFit experience. It was everything I expected and MUCH more. Somehow I slipped past Pukie without paying the toll. Thanx for helping me get WRECKED. It was awesome!
- Jon B., "GimpinAintEasy", brother of CFJ member Ryan B.

WOW . . . feels like someone sunk an icepick into each of my shoulders. I just want to thank Mike, Chris, Meghan, Jon, and all of the great people at CFJAX for what has been, without doubt, the most amazing, intense, humbling, head-spinning, no-bullshit week of physical fitness I have ever experienced. It's not just "working out", it's a lifestyle. I'm definitely gonna be missing those tense butterflies I get everyday when we make that left turn and pull up to the box for another go. Hope to be back VERY soon!
- Jon B "GimpinAintEasy", after 1 week training @ CFJ

Mike, Chris - that was amazing. Thanks for having Melissa and myself up. We both really dug you guys, your crew, and your space. Thanks guys! Was a blast. Thought that sled might kill me. Come see us in Daytona soon!
- Robert & Melissa, CrossFit Daytona

On my recent trip out to Jacksonville, FLA., I got a workout in at CrossFit Jax. They have an awesome facility and some firebreathers that train there. One thing I had to try to do is acclimate myself to training in the 90`degree heat and 90 percent humidity. That was the real challenge for me. It was a great experience and a joy to workout with some very talented athletes and very nice people at CrossFit Jax. Thank you to Mike S.,the owner and to all the gang at your facility.
- Paul, CrossFit East County

You guys have an awesome thing going there in FL. You're affiliate is a model for everyone to strive towards. I commend you and wish you continued success! - Jeremy, CrossFit Springfield

We love your workouts, and we've always felt that you guys are pushing CrossFit to another level - so we're trying to follow. Keep up the good work! - John, CrossFit 4800

Greetings out of Germany! I have been following CF since April of this year. I came across your site while looking for a CF box in the Tampa area. I started following the workouts from CFJAX. To my amazement, I have never been fitter (at least not since high school). That was well over 20 years ago! While becoming a CF junkie, I have had the chance to view 1000's of videos and sites. By far, you guys are definitely the toughest. You can probably imagine what it's like to do the workouts by yourself. But over here in Germany, the locals think I'm outta my head. The gyms over here that I've tried for the past 15 years have been kind of disappointing. I used to read the news online from back home to keep up with things. Nowadays, I view the CFJAX and CF main site before I even read the news. You guys are an inspiration for me! - Robert P.

I think maybe I will start following CFJAX's programming. I love their workouts, and as I lurk on their blog every day I keep thinking “That’s cool, I’ll save that and do it someday.” Might as well go ahead and do it, because every day looks better and better to me. - Tami, gotamigo.wordpress.com

A good workout is a good workout, no matter where it comes from, and we believe in giving credit where credit's due. My wife and I are certainly envious of the photography skills of whoever takes your pictures. I'm not savvy enough yet to get our pictures displayed like yours on our site, but I'm working on it. I wish you much success with your affiliate. You can bet we'll be checking in from time to time. - Clay & Kim, Triangle CrossFit

I got my ass kicked today. Packaged up and handed to me on a plate. And then I paid for it!
Let me explain...
One of my comrades in Afghanistan always raved about his workout program, a new system called CrossFit that is wildly popular among tactical outfits, military special forces, etc. Naturally I checked out the website after his recommendation but found it largely unaccessible to a beginner with no knowledge of how to do many of the exercises. There were video demos but my connection was too slow at the time and it just isn’t the same, ya know. But I vowed to look into further later on.
After much overindulgence whilst on leave for two weeks and quickly feeling the suck of shipboard life and the all-too easy path towards sloth and apathy I googled CrossFit gyms in Jax and how about that, there was one on the way home from work! CFJAX boasted a hardcore approach that isn’t cut out for everybody. They recommended staying at home if you don’t bring your A-game and it looked like a pretty intense place so I decided to check it out.
On the way home from work the other day I stopped by an inconspicuous low-key garage with no sign whatsoever. The gym was open the way an auto-shop or icehouse is with garage doors up. Inside was a bare bones set up that epitomized minimalism. One bench, a couple rowing machines, some pull-up bars, medicine balls and PVC pipe seemed to be about it. The walls were tagged with motivational graffiti and “Pukie”, the vomiting mascot who represents the post-workout state of the gym’s clientele. In other words, it was completely awesome.
The sole trainer on duty took a break from coaching the facility’s only two customers at the moment to answer some of my questions. The first session was a freebie so I decided to come back the next day and give it a go.
For what seemed like a simple and easy workout, it most certainly wasn’t. The plan was 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, and 15 air squats as many times as you can for 20 minutes. I ended up doing 11 sets and nearly died on the floor. That was enough to have me hooked and I signed up for more punishment.
ETA: Since I started writing this post I’ve been to two of the four personal sessions and each one seemed even more intense than the other and my body is still screaming at me even after the weekend break.
CrossFit has now joined the ranks of USAA Federal Savings Bank and Apple Computers as one of those wonderful things I advocate until my friends submit and try it out. And that is a huge recommendation! - Jack T.

I just wanted to send a Happy New Year down that way and let you know that we are still loving the CFJAX workouts! Man, 'yall are always killing it! I'm looking at a space for a gym that reminds me a lot of the pics at CJFAX. - LT Ray L., South Carolina Highway Patrol

We are a new affiliate here in Las Vegas. In my opinion the CFJAX website is one of the best. It's one of the few sites I check to get ideas on programming. From the style, photos and overall look, your site is badass. One of my favorite videos is 'TransFormers' that HQ posted a while ago. If I'm ever in FL, I would love to hit a WOD with you guys and you all should do the same if ever in Vegas. Keep up the good work. - Billy H., SinCity CrossFit

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kyle K. He came back home for the holidays and represented CFJAX very well. We were all impressed and welcome him back anytime. I enjoy looking through your website and it is obvious that your programming/coaching works. I may have to borrow some of those WODs for my own classes.. - Lucas V., Underground Fitness

Hi Chris!
The Fran times are amazing! Just looking at the pictures you guys put up, shows how effective your programming is. I have been working on the range of motion i.e. chest to bar on the pull-ups, so in that dept. things are coming along. There are a couple more guys that are starting to want to do the wods with me. I have been referring them to CFJAX. Because the numbers and figures speak for themselves. After a few of them thought I am crazy, they saw what I deadlifted compared to others in the gym. (My deadlift has gone up over 50kgs since last April). It's amazing what kind of transformation one can make off your program.
Now before I ramble on, are any of you going to compete in the Games? If so, you guys are going to kill it. In that respect, I wish you all the best of luck! - Rob

I came across your site by accident, but was impressed with your programming and found myself coming back to check out the wods every day for a good week. I'm in Utah and although I typically follow main site, I think I might switch over to these wods. They look brutal, but its what I crave. Awesome site! - Maria

The purpose of this email is to compliment you on your website and programming. I am on the web, mainly surfing the main site, journal and other affiliates several hours a night.....You by far, have the best, most motivating content and programming on the web....keep it up - Brad G.

Whats up CFJ. This is Fleming from CrossFit Hattiesburg. I have corresponded with you guys in the past through emails, and even did a WOD with you guys last August. I check your site and comments out everyday and have noticed the large group of followers you are getting. Well I just wanted you to know that I too follow your site. Its the baddest sh%t out there. As a trainer it was hard finding a routine to follow, and the WODs we have our members do, just wasn't enough. Most of our members like the 'fast in and out in 30' WODs. So, in December I started following your site religiously. I do the 3 on 1 off, 2 on 1 off schedule. I chose your site due to the awesome programming you guys do...both the warm ups and WODs!! Since I started, I have noticed big changes in everything from strength, endurance, and recovery. When we did Fran last month, I dropped 3 mins off my time. And to top it off I have gained 4 other members who now come in after the gym closes to do CFJAX WODs with me. We freaking love it. So, I just wanted you guys to know the hell of a job you are doing to followers away from Jacksonville. Makes you wonder how many other CrossFitters follow your site. We may even start posting our times up on here. Keep up the good work!! - Fleming, CFHB

CFJAX...Thanks for the WOD's...I was the Wisconsin guy that worked out one AM back in DEC. when my family was down over our Christmas Break. Needless to say...everything about CFJAX is great! Tough WOD's...getting people tougher everyday! - TB, Wisconsin

The workouts posted on this website are insane! I'm currently in upstate NY and report to the Marine Corps, The Basic School in 1 month. I constantly humble myself after comparing the times and Rx'd workouts by the members at CFJAX. The great thing about functional fitness that I get out of CrossFit is when I step in front of my peers. The adversity you go through on a day to day basis makes you push new limits. I am a much more efficient athlete that can withstand a hell of a lot more from less than a year of this type of training. I will never train the same after CFJAX. - Josh B. USMC, CFJAX member

I've looked at every "Crossfit" site I can find and yours stood out as one that our ideals and methods seemed to match up with most. I think you'll admit that there's a slight "twist" or "spin" you guys have added to Crossfit. I think that's what makes CFJAX so interesting. Here at The Shop we have a very eclectic approach to the training, we don't subscribe to any single doctrine, and that seems to be the approach in your space as well. Keep up the good work. What you guys are doing is one of only a few beacons we care to even pay attention to.
- Clint, 'The Shop' Topeka

I just thought I would drop you guys a line and tell you how amazing I think your WOD’s and website are. I live in Calgary Canada and I visit your site every day. I love your WODS they are always challenging and by far the best CF programming I have found. I also really like that you put your warm-ups on there too because I always struggle with what to do for my warm ups. Thank you so much for what you do because it enables me to do incredible CF work outs in my home. I also love the pictures that you take every day it is inspiring for me since I do all my WODs alone. You guys ROCK and maybe some day I will make it down there and enjoy a work out in person!
Thanks so much - Lisa M.

I've had the pleasure of taking some of you ladies on in a WOD at CF JAX and you definitely gave me a run for my money! I have been to many CF boxes and by far CF JAX is the best. I'm not just saying that to blow smoke up y'all asses but it is...

You have a unique box which is very inspiring. You also have two amazing owners who put together insane but awesome WODs. There's definitely some smart and creative minds working there. Also, you all have a tight group... you can tell that you are all one big CF family. It shows in the box and it showed outside the box. Everyone looked out for everyone and y'all are so nice and supportive. It definitely made my experience there even better.

One last thing about CF JAX - you all are some "rock stars"... pretty girls and good-looking guys - unequivocally eye candy at CF JAX! How could you girls not want to go there and strive to look better when you can stare at those hard-bodies every day! That should be motivational on it's own! LOL!

I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet some of you and workout with you. I hope to make it back there to take you on again at a WOD or two and also to hang out! - Carey F., ICE Agent, Detroit, MI
